Emily Milligan

About Me:
My name is Emily Milligan and I love teaching music at Ewing Grade School! I have grown up in the wonderful world of music and my passion is to give your children the tools they need to be successful and have fun in any form of music they choose to be a part of.

My Background:

Raised in Iowa, my mother was an avid pianist in her younger years which led her to being a huge influence on my passion and knowledge. As a young child,I began taking piano lessons and participating in honor choirs which transpired into participating in all things music and theater in middle school and high school. My family moved to southern Illinois in 2002 after graduating from Indianola High School. I attended Rend Lake College and SIUE to complete my degree. I graduated in 2009 from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville with a major in Music Education. I taught music at two schools in the St. Louis Metro before moving back to southern Illinois in 2012 to take the position at Ewing. In 2018, I received my Masters in Special Education.

At Ewing, we offer:
K-4 General Music
4th Grade Beginning band
5-8 General Chorus
Bella Voche Advanced Chorus
5-8 Concert & Marching Band
